Founder
J&P Travel Tours is led by its founder, Jigme Thinley, whose journey reflects both experience and purpose.
He began his career in 2007 as a freelance tour guide in Bhutan, developing a deep connection with travelers and a strong understanding of what makes a journey truly memorable. Along the way, he also gained international exposure, including four years of work experience in India in the field of digital content.
A turning point came in 2012, when he guided a motorbike tour across Bhutan for a Swiss group. What began as a single journey grew into a long-standing relationship that would shape the next chapter of his life.
In 2013, he had the opportunity to organize an international visit to Zurich, Switzerland, for a group of Bhutanese technical education professionals. This experience led to his role as a representative in “Project Bhutan” under a Swiss philanthropist.
For over a decade, his work focused on the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector in Bhutan. He facilitated exchange programs between Bhutan and Switzerland, creating opportunities for teachers, students, and professionals to share knowledge, skills, and experiences across cultures.
During this time, Switzerland became more than a workplace it became a second home, filled with meaningful connections and lifelong friendships.
After 13 years, as the project came to a close in 2024, Jigme chose to return to where his journey first began tourism.
Today, with a wealth of experience, international exposure, and a deep appreciation for cultural exchange, he brings a more thoughtful and personal approach to travel.
Through J&P Travel Tours, his goal is simple: To give back by creating journeys that are not only well-organized, but also genuine, warm, and unforgettable for visitors from Switzerland and from around the world.

Built from years of experience in Bhutan’s tourism and hospitality industry, J&P Travel Tours was not formed overnight. It is the result of time, patience, and a genuine understanding of what travelers truly seek when they come to Bhutan not just to visit, but to feel, to connect, and to leave with something more than photographs.
